Public Service Commission

is a regulatory agency for energy, telecommunications, gas, and water public utilities.  The mission of Wisconsin’s Public Service Commission is to “Oversee and facilitate the efficient and fair provision of quality utility services in Wisconsin. . . we consider and balance diverse perspectives and we endeavor to protect the environment, and the public interest and the public health and welfare.”   psc.wi.gov  Wisconsin’s PSC is made up of three full-time commissioners appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Wisconsin Senate.  The Cardinal-Hickory Creek line cannot be built without the approval of Wisconsin’s PSC.
